I was wondering if anyone had ideas.... my 03 tek geve me a really hard and weird shift the other day, my father-in-law talked about the torque converter solenoid .... this only happened once the other when the transmission fluid was hot... would just changing the trans fluid fix this . She has 72 000 miles and is only a fwd. I bought this baby six months ago and I dont think she was treated like gem , anyone have any suggestion for me >

Changing fluid and filter wont hurt, but wont help the hard shift.  If no code shows up, it may or may not be the pressure control solenoid.  If you search the pontiac bonneville forums for shift kits, you'll see many posts, including mine, where I installed a transgo shift kit and eliminated 2 years of hard shifts.   Mine did it only when hot, but it banged all the shifts after getting off the highway and tranny hot.   The shift kit is really easy to install if your changing fluid and filter....

Probably the Pressure Solenoid, but you can change the fluid/filter to see if that helps.  I had to have mine changed once when rebuilding it and a second time about 2 years after that.

she finally gave me a code P 0742, it says the torque converter clutch solenoid stuck on . Does anyone have any idea of how much that runs you in a SHOP , RECALLS . Its starting to get pretty cold and I dont feel like doin that in the snow .
