Anybody know the moniker that the 3400 motor has. IE: the 3800 V-6 is the "L-36". Just wondering about our motor.

Thanks

03 Tek,

The moniker for our 3.4L engine is the LA1.

03 Tek,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on that one.  It is just the Regular Production Option (RPO) that they assigned it.    I kind of suspect the modification you were considering (perhaps a badge on the outside somewhere indicating what lurks under the hood.  Perhaps even a "cowl induction" hood (like the ones used on the early 1970s Chevelles).  Now that would be cool.  HEE HEE HEE

Your pretty much correct. Just some badging.

On my GP I have  "L-36" logo's on my front lower rocker sills and "POWERED BY L-36" on my back window. Granted the L-36 is a much better platform for modifications then the Aztek sourced 3400.. huh

Perhaps maybe consider doing something with 3.4L or 3400?
