I am the  new owner (1 month now) of a 2001 Aztek and have noticed some slippage when shifting my automatic shifts gears but only very sporadiacly and so I have not thought much about it but except that I was planning to take it in next week for a transmission filter and change. Normally, it shifts beautifully but I have noticed the slippage every once in a while. After reading the thread about the guys transmission locking up on him I wonder what I can/should do. Shoud I have the dealership go ahead and replace the Transmission Pressure Control Solenoid (PCS) and Transmission Pass-Thru Connector? What about the TSB you mentioned. Thanks in advance.

A total check of the trans is in order. A food shop or dealership tech can tell from just driving what it is doing and go from there. A Tech II can aid in this diag as well.

Congrats on your purchase!

If you do have to have the PCS installed in your Tek.  Make sure you have them clean the TCC sol. as well.  After you get this out of the way, it should be smooth sailing.......or at least shifting.  GM dealerships all gave me a price around $250 plus parts to do the job.  I have also heard of someone in this club putting seafoam tranny additive in and then having no problem for 30K.

Good luck and God Bless
