YOU SAID IT!

I was just pretending last night that my Aztek had ALL SORTS of horsepower, like one of the "super cars" (Vets, Lambo, etc.). Perhaps I was merging a bit too fast and got all mad with power?! LOL

If the Vous uses a 4T65E trans as the Teks do, then thats one based covered.

BUT..

Getting the 3.5's electronics to sync up with everything that your 3400 used, thats another story.

You are looking at considerable coin.

As long as you get a vous PCM to go along with the engine, then the electronics should sync up just fine.  You'll need to go to a dealership and have all the VINs synced through the whole system though otherwise the security system will probably keep you from starting the system.  You MIGHT be able to take the PCM in before the engine swap and let them hook it up and do their mojo before the swap, otherwise you might need to have the vehicle towed in.

From what I'm seeing the PCM from the 3800 Series II should also sync up with the onboard electronics the same way.

If you can't fix it yourself, redesign it since it was obviously poorly designed to begin with, otherwise you could fix it yourself.  Right?

Can I say you all are going about it the wrong way??

OK, I beleive in 03 they switched to the drive by wire accelerator. So why not grab the beastly powerhouse, and FWD trans from a 3.9L impala? They make more HP than a Supercharged 3.8, and the fuel mileage out of them are very impressive. Would probly be alot more straight foward I am thinking.

Well, we know the 3800 Series II L67 will fit.  We don't know about the 3.9.  It's possible it might fit.  Don't know.  There also appears to be more help available for a 3800 swap from what I can see.
