I've had the Tek for a couple months now and really like it. But I getting frustrated, hope someone has had my issue and can advise.

92 AWD, 81k, replaced LIM & Head gaskets 1500 miles ago when I bought it. "Low oil pressure" warning started chiming in intermitantly for the last couple hundred miles. Then 2 days ago the car reached hot and died in my driveway and "low oil pressure" waring came on. waited, then drove it into the garage and I had the "pressure" warning and some lifter ticking.

So today, I do an oil change and the oil pressure switch change as well. The oil was a tad milky and felt "thin". With the new filter, oil and sensor in, I start it up and all is good initially. After a short test drive to reach operating temperature, I return to the garage and leave it idling. The lifters are quiet and happy again, but now when I rev the engine while in park, there is a "heavy rattle at about 2k RPM.  Hmmmmmm  Doesn't sound like a bearing, so I grab my stethascope and try to nail down the noise. it is most audible at the front of the engine and the back (Right). I didn't probe by the oil gear shaft by the EGR, I'll do that tommorow.

So I Pull the dip stick and it is slightly milky again ( the coolant looks perfect), and then I remove the oil fill cap and there is my new clean oil pooled in the head with LITTLE TINY SPARKLIES SUSPENDED IN THE OIL. I am deducing that this is an oil pump issue and after looking in the service manual and reading about R&R oil pump, I decided its time for a beer and advice. Advise me please.

The only advice I can give would to grab a very cold one in the 32-36 degree range. Start drinking it slowly to avoid a "brain freeze" then increase the pace as needed.  Repeat the process as necessary.

That sounds about right... I do beleive you are going to be looking at a engine rebuild, or a new motor. Probly cheaper to go with a new motor. Just get a 04+ motor..
