Oh by the way I decided to tint mine too.

They are not as shiny as I had hoped they would be, so I'm looking at ways to fix that.  Hey, they match the 3rd brake light now! Grin

Very nice.  Looks so much better!  You can try to put some clear-coat on them.  I believe Rust-Oleum has a lacquer top coat that would prolly work well.  I used it a while back when I modded my xbox.  I put 3 coats on it and it shines real nice.  cool  I got mine at the Walmart, plus it'll add some protection to the tint.

That is with clear coat!  Lol.  I might attempt to apply more.

Actually the driver's side one looks okay, it's pretty clear, but I can't get the passenger side one to clear up Sad .  I've tried polishing it like no tomorrow but it isn't working.

Use High heat duplicolor clear engine enamel. You can get a very nice shine with it.

How many coats did you put on?  And what finish was the clear coat?  The first coat of that lacquer finish didn't do much but I immediately noticed a difference with the second and even more with the third.  You can also lightly sand the finish between coats for even greater sheen.

Does anyone else have LED bulbs on the reverse bulbs?  I just have the $12 v-leds ones and they're plenty bright to go through the 3.5 layers of tint I have on the taillights.

I figured my problem out.  Didn't sand down enough with the 2000grit sandpaper.  I actually smoothed it out quite a bit more this morning, so now it's as smooth as glass Grin .  I only had time this morning to do one, I'll try to do the other one when I get home later (until then I get to drive around like a tool lmfao).  I used my Meguier's PlastX to make them clear and shiny after sanding them with the 2000 grit sandpaper.  Looks factory now!

Looks great!  Your car is clean compared to mine.  It rains everyday down here so I haven't wanted to wash it.  Puma is all covered in sap Sad  He needs a bath real bad.

I hear ya, it's rained way too much up here too, every other day on average.  Thursday begins a streak of sunshine so I will be sure to wash and wax her then.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

What did you end up doing on the tails to get them shinny?

I am ordering tail light tint, just in case I have to pull it off..

I sanded mine with 2000 grit sandpaper until they were clear and shiny when wet.  Then get all the dust off, and rub in a fine scratch removing compound (I used Meguier's PlastX).
