I've been noticing for over a month now a compressor like sound (coming from under the driver's seat area), has been getting louder.

I'm assuming I'm hearing the rear suspension ride leveling compressor?  It turns on under a minute after the truck is started, then turns off.

Problem is it's now abnoxiously loud now, along with starting to sound 'not right'.  sound's like a grinding noise now.

Further, if I go to the back and check out the air pump panel (has that switch to fill up tires or whatever), the button's LED is blinking rapidly
continuously, and won't operate.

The rear shocks have been leaking for a while too.

So-- anybody ever had this?  The compressor dying?  I sure hope not, so far I've only seen it on gmpartsdirect.com for $300 US.

Thanks!

if the shock have been leaking for a while  then the air compressor has worked itself to death. I would replace the shocks and the compressor.  The compressor may still work good enough to keep it level though I dont knwo how far its gone.

On my Towncar i put off replacing my leaking air springs 1 day to long and the day the springs were being replaced the compressor went dead
