I have a 2005 Rally edition FWD that I would like to add a hitch. I found Curt Mfg #13469 with a T-connector including tax and shipping for US$173. Any pros, cons or recommendations? Thanks much!

Welcome to the AFC. As for the hitch- my feelings are a hitch is a hitch- they're all rated the same for towing tongue and total weight. A class 3 is a class 3. I have a hidden hitch brand on my Tek. As for those "T" connectors, some people have had no problems with it and others have had issues like hyper flashing, or bulb out indicator lights. I guess you will have to try and see. The price including shipping seems pretty fair. Now for installation, some brands of hitches are direct bolt on with no drillling required like my Hidden Hitch. Others here have said that they had to crawl under the Tek and drill holes, I'm not sure what the installation requirements are for the Curt Hitch though.

I agree with Drex and I would check to make sure youd ont have to do to much extra work with it. You dont want to get to frustrated with it.

I bought the Curt hitch on 03-20-08 and it arrived today 03-22-08! It included an 8 1/4" bar (no ball). I did have to drill two holes but install was a piece of cake. I didn't have to remove the spare or lower the exhaust. Total cost (delivered+tax) for the hitch, ball mount and t-connector was $142.07US from JC Whitney.
Now I can use the bike carrier! I am still waiting for the t-connector from JC Whitney. I took some pics of the installed hitch. I can't wait for some nice weather to hit the campground and try the Aztek as the tow vehicle.

Go to JC Whitney and buy the Curt hitch and T-connector! I usually don't advocate any particular store but everyting fit and the t-connector is a plug in to the extra connector under the rear of the Aztek! I can't wait to hook up the camper and go camping! The price can't be beat. If you are a DIY guy like me, no problemo!

I was hesitant to buy a hitch because there are so many chioices. hidden hitch, reese and curt to name a few. The deciding factor was the cost, $99.95US with free shipping. I was kind of bummed out when I ordered it and JC Whitney said it may take 3-4 weeks for the manufacturer to fill the order. I thought I wouldn't need it for at least that long because camping season was a long way off. When it was delivered a few days later I was excited to finally get a hitch installed on the Tek.
I was hoping to go to the rally in 2008 but it doesn't look too feasible now. I just started a new job and so did my wife. I want to be a member and try to get to the 2009 rally.
