I have a 'car' my wife drives 'her Aztek'!

« on: March 21, 2008, 08:25:49 PM »

I am working for a contract employment agency on a limited contract and hope I will be hired perm. I was off of work for over 4 months. To celebrate I bought a trailer hitch for the Tek. The new company is only a mile from my house! My car can't even warm up in that short of a distance. I was worried we might have to sell our 05 Tek Rally. We just bought it in Oct 07. Wish me luck!

Good Luck for the Permanent Position.  As for the hitch... do you plan on towing something or just wanted it to have it?  Do you have the V92 RPO? ( towing package)

First, I am sorry this got into the camping forum, I thought I was putting it in bragging rights!
Second, I bought the hitch to tow my small pop-up and I do not think I have the towing package (V92 RPO). The farthest I ever went during a camper tow was about 30 miles (using our 94 Astro which was replaced by the 05 Aztek). I will mainly use the hitch for our bike carrier.

EDIT:  Moved to Bragging Rights

Well good luck on the job, hope you get your permanent position, I could imagine how it feels to not know whether you will be kept or not, I see it all the time at my work.  Anyway, a word of advice, STAND UP and SHINE more then the others everyday give your 110% and the day you sign your permanent paper, become a slacker LOLOLOL.

Good luck.

The last contract job I had was in 1996. I was on a 6 month contract and was hired perm after 4 months. I worked there for 11 years. The VP I worked with told me he hated to let me go. I had a lot of great ideas and really moved the company forward.
I have only worked three days and the manager I work for said I have done a great job. When he can get me a perm spot I will be hired perm. Its all up to his boss (VP) and his bosses boss (CEO) and then the corporate people (???). It all has to do with head count and total number of employees.
Meanwhile, I am making great money and am REALLY close to home.  All is good now. I am kicking butt and leaving everybody in my wake (in a nice way).

I noticed a black Aztek in the parking lot. Don't know the owner, I only know about five people (by name) so far, not bad for three days. Do gonzo aztekfanclub members really put messages on other Azteks for their owners to join?

Oh the best of luck to you, hope you go permanent.  Just think of the gas savings - only ONE MILE to work.  Hey, to save money and get in shape you could walk or Jog.

Am sure the perm position will be yours!

I staked out the Aztek at work and found out who is the driver. I told him I have an 05 Aztek Rally and explained to him about the Aztek fan club but he did not seem very interested. He likes the Aztek and said it has been a good vehicle for him but is not ready for the fan club. I told him about all of the great knowledge that is available and the comoradery and still, a luke warm response. i guess some are not meant to be.
