Now I rock a Fusion ...

« on: March 27, 2011, 12:50:22 PM »

I've been inactive lately ... I know.  I've been busy with girl troubles, friend troubles, job troubles, car troubles, you name it.  My Tek was involved in an accident at the beginning of the month Sad where some stupid lady was driving without a license in a Trailblazer and turned out in front of me and I couldn't stop in time.  It almost got written off Sad but thankfully not.  It took the entire month to fix it but I finally got it back from the shop Friday, but not exactly good as new Angry .  They stained my emblem and my black side pillars between the windows on the doors with overspray!!  They also left compound all over the front of the car and left wires hanging from underneath (fog lights) as well as a few other things I was very unimpressed with.  Needless to say I will not be going back there ever.  We have to take the Tek back over Monday to show them these issues and demand they correct it, which is difficult because I work Mon-Fri now fulltime, so my mom will be taking it, so I go yet another day not driving my Tek to work .  Also, they couldn't find a replacement big deflector ... so my car is naked on the front now.  Here is a pic of the damage from the crash.

Things are getting back on track kind of though ... trying to get past the girl problems, I got a fulltime job so I have more money coming in (for more Tek upgrades?? Hmm ... evil ).  Hopefully everything will be good again.  I'll post pics of Tek after the crash soon, and I'll try to become more active again.

Take care guys.

Python,   sorry to hear about your luck.    If you still are looking for an oem bug deflector they can be found on ebay for $35 and $15 shipping.  I ordered mine and it should be arriving this week.  They also have a package with factory rubber floor mats, bug deflectors, rain guards, and a winshield banner offered.   I'll let you know how I make out.    Cheers

Python, very sorry to hear about the smack-up, but glad you get to keep your Tek! Definitely stay on the place that did the repairs - they need to make it right, and hopefully your insurance will get on their butts too.

On the love front, Brian speaks the truth - you can't rush it. Congrats BTW Brian on number 12 - Yvonne and I are coming up on 16 years in July, and it definitely took me a while to find her  smiley

Thanks guys.  Here are some pics I took today.  Tek is still looking good after the accident.  And in absence of the bug deflector, I put the magnetic hood bra I have back on in it's place.  I think it looks good, I just liked the bug deflector better lol.  I waxed the hood and the hood bra too, super shiny, I'm planning to wax the whole car on our Canadian May 24 weekend which is when I will actually have time to wash and wax it down in London!  Took Tek in for some routine maintence this morning too, all is good, running like a charm. The ad for it was on Ebay (pretty sure it still is) but the site for them is here: http://www.magnetbra.com/

Also, thanks again guys lol.

Well guys the Tek needs at least $4000-$4500 of work done to it, the Tranny needs a refurb, the engine is pinging away, the things vibrating like crazy on the highway, the thing needs it's spark plugs replaced (routine maintenance), among other things.  I've decided I don't want to put this kind of money into it ... so I'm trading it in Thursday for a 2007 Ford Fusion.  I love the Tek to death, but I'm tired of putting so much money into repairs, it's not worth it anymore for this vehicle.  So please say hello to my new ride ...

I pick it up Thursday night ...

Sorry to hear about the 'Tek.  Cry Congrats on the new Fusion. It looks very nice. Which engine/trans does it have?
Are you planning on modding it at all?
